Local log disclosure and tampering via world-writable directory
Published Mar 5, 2025 · Updated Nov 3, 2025
Incorrect permissions in Vasion Print Virtual Appliance Host before 1.0.735 and Application before 20.0.1330 allow local users to alter logs. The /opt/PrinterInstallerClient/log directory is mode 777, and interface.log is mode 666, so unprivileged accounts can create files or erase root-daemon log content. Access to a macOS or Linux endpoint account is required; the demonstrated consequences are disclosure and corruption of local logs.
