CVE-2025-27671Network attack vector

Device impersonation via hostname-only identification

Published Mar 5, 2025 · Updated Mar 5, 2025

Authentication bypass in Vasion Print before Virtual Appliance Host 22.0.843 and Application 20.0.1923 allows remote attackers to impersonate devices. At least one authorization path identifies trusted devices solely by machine name, so renaming an attacker-controlled host alters another device's records. No credentials or user interaction are required; successful exploitation lets the renamed host act as an authorized device and modify that device's associated records.
