Weak credential protection in Vasion Print before Virtual Appliance Host 22.0.843 and Application 20.0.1923 allows attackers to recover passwords. The make_user function in lib/dao/user_dao.php stores passwords as unsalted SHA-1 hashes, while authentication data is obfuscated with reversible double Base64 encoding. Access to encoded authentication data or stored hashes enables direct decoding or offline cracking, exposing credentials that can be used to compromise accounts.
