Infinite-loop handling in the Ring 0 kernel on affected Intel Xeon 6 platforms allows local users to hang the entire system. The Ring 0 kernel enters a loop whose exit condition cannot be reached, but Intel has not disclosed the triggering operation or input. Exploitation requires a privileged system-software user with local access and causes an availability-only service interruption.
