CVE-2025-27510Network attack vector

Code execution via unclaimed optional dependency

Published Mar 4, 2025 · Updated Mar 5, 2025

Dependency confusion in conda-forge-metadata 0.4.1 and earlier allows attackers to execute code when its optional oci extra is installed. Its package metadata names conda-oci-mirror as an extra dependency even though that name was unregistered on PyPI, allowing a publisher who claimed it to supply installer-executed code. Exploitation requires installation of the oci extra while the attacker controls that dependency name; arbitrary code then runs with the installing process's privileges.
