CVE-2025-27507Network attack vector

Account takeover via mis-scoped Admin API permissions

Published Mar 4, 2025 · Updated Mar 12, 2025

Authorization bypass in ZITADEL allows remote authenticated users to alter sensitive instance settings through the Admin API. Twelve AdminService methods require organization-scoped permissions where instance-scoped IAM permissions are necessary, exposing LDAP, policy, label, and template operations. A user holding the weaker permissions can redirect LDAP logins, expose the LDAP password, and take over LDAP-backed accounts; other deployments remain exposed to unauthorized settings changes.
