Unauthenticated service interruption via resource pool exhaustion
Published Apr 8, 2025 · Updated Aug 10, 2026
Denial of service in Microsoft Windows Server Kerberos allows remote attackers to interrupt authentication via network traffic. The Kerberos Key Distribution Proxy Service depletes an insufficient resource pool while processing attacker-controlled requests, but Microsoft has not disclosed the resource, request field, or exact exhaustion path. No credentials or user interaction are required; reachability requires the proxy service to accept network requests, and the documented consequence is service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
