Administrative control via passwordless SOAP token
Published Mar 24, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026
Authentication bypass in Kentico Xperience before 13.0.178 allows remote attackers to control administrative objects via the Staging SOAP endpoint. Microsoft WSE3 UsernameToken parsing leaves PasswordOption as SendNone when a token omits the Password element, and VerifyPassword returns without checking a secret. The Staging service must be enabled with username/password authentication; a forged request then receives global-administrator access to staging operations.
