Guest-kernel privilege escalation via unrestricted XenIface devices
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Privilege escalation in all Xen Project Windows PV Drivers releases allows local users to gain guest-kernel privileges through XenIface. XenIface creates user-accessible device facilities without a security descriptor, so Windows grants unprivileged users unrestricted access. An unprivileged user inside an affected Windows guest can use that access to execute with guest-kernel privilege.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
