CVE-2025-27456Network attack vector

SMB access via missing login throttling

Published Jul 3, 2025 · Updated Jul 3, 2025

Improper authentication throttling in Endress+Hauser MEAC300-FNADE4 through 0.16.0 allows remote attackers to gain SMB access. The SMB login mechanism accepts repeated failed authentication attempts within a short period without an effective restriction. An attacker must reach the SMB service over Ethernet but needs no existing account or user interaction; success exposes data available to the guessed account.
