Unauthenticated username enumeration via distinct login errors
Published Jul 3, 2025 · Updated Jul 3, 2025
Observable response discrepancy in Endress+Hauser MEAC300-FNADE4 through 0.16.0 allows remote attackers to enumerate valid usernames. The login handler returns distinct errors for an incorrect password and a nonexistent username instead of a uniform authentication failure. No authentication or user interaction is required, and the disclosed account names can support targeted password attacks.
