Stored cross-site scripting in AVEVA PI Web API 2023 SP1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in browsers. Annotation attachment rendering serves attacker-supplied active content without neutralizing embedded JavaScript, allowing persisted payloads from annotations or media uploads. Exploitation requires annotation or media privileges and a victim who disables content security policy protections before rendering the attachment.
