Authenticated file disclosure via path traversal
Published Jun 5, 2025 · Updated Jun 19, 2025
Path traversal in RSJoomla! RSFirewall! 2.9.7 through 3.1.5 allows remote authenticated users to read files outside the Joomla root. The System Check “View file contents” action accepts directory-traversal sequences in a file path parameter without sufficient sanitization. Access requires an authenticated Joomla back-end session, and readable PHP-process files can expose sensitive site or host data.
