Address-bar spoofing via internal error-page redirect
Published Mar 4, 2025 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
URL spoofing in Mozilla Firefox for iOS before 136 allows remote attackers to display a false website address after an internal-page redirect. A server redirect to internal://local/errorpage sets the address bar from an attacker-controlled url parameter while the tab retains the attacker's origin, enabling cross-window content replacement. A victim must open the malicious page and tap its link; Mozilla reproduced the spoof with legacy error pages but not with the native error-page experiment.
