CVE-2025-27425Public exploit

Confirmation bypass via double-colon QR code URL

Published Mar 4, 2025 · Updated Jun 9, 2026

Improper URL validation in Firefox for iOS before 136 allows attackers to open a website by scanning a crafted QR code without confirmation. The QR scanner accepts a double-colon URL scheme and passes its embedded HTTPS destination to the browser without taking the confirmation path. Exploitation requires a user to invoke the scanner and scan the crafted code; the demonstrated consequence is automatic navigation, not code execution.
