CVE-2025-27413Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution via restored template path traversal

Published Feb 28, 2025 · Updated Mar 4, 2025

Path traversal in PwnDoc before 1.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary files through restored template data. Backup restoration bulk-writes templates.json objects into MongoDB without filename validation; a later template update joins the stored name into a report-templates path and writes attacker-supplied Base64 content. The required backup and template permissions are administrator-only by default, and overwriting backend source enables code execution in the server container.
