Administrator session compromise via reflected API result
Published Mar 5, 2025 · Updated Mar 5, 2025
Reflected XSS in REDAXO CMS 5.0.0 through 5.18.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary script in an administrator’s browser. rex_api_function::handleCall decodes attacker-controlled rex-api-result JSON from the URL, and getFormattedMessage renders its message. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open a crafted packages-page URL, enabling session hijacking, phishing, or actions through that browser session.
