CVE-2025-27397Network attack vector

Arbitrary file access via log path traversal

Published Mar 11, 2025 · Updated Mar 11, 2025

Path traversal in Siemens SCALANCE LPE9403 before 4.0 allows remote authenticated users to read and write arbitrary filesystem files. Log read and write operations fail to constrain user-controlled paths to the intended directory and accept any path ending in 'log'. Administrative privileges and network access to the device are required; successful use exposes or alters only files whose paths end in 'log'.
