Arbitrary file access via unrestricted SFTP paths
Published Mar 11, 2025 · Updated Mar 11, 2025
Path traversal in Siemens SCALANCE LPE9403 before 4.0 allows remote authenticated users to read and write arbitrary files through SFTP. The SFTP service fails to confine authenticated file operations to the permitted directory and privilege boundary. A highly privileged device account is required; exploitation exposes arbitrary file contents and permits arbitrary file modification.
