Firmware authenticity failure in GE Vernova Multilin UR IED devices 7.0 through 8.60 allows remote authenticated users to install modified firmware. EnerVista UR Setup performs signature verification only in the client, while the relay accepts firmware without independently enforcing that integrity decision. High-privilege access to the adjacent-network management path is required, and successful exploitation permits persistent alteration of device behavior.
