CVE-2025-27256

Adjacent authentication bypass via unauthenticated SSH server

Published Mar 10, 2025 · Updated Mar 12, 2025

Authentication bypass in GE Vernova EnerVista UR Setup 7.0 through 8.60 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to impersonate an SSH relay server. The client establishes its SSH channel without reliably authenticating the server endpoint, so a rogue network peer can be accepted as the relay. An attacker must occupy an adjacent network path; interception can expose credentials and forge or interrupt traffic between the setup tool and relay.
