Authentication bypass in GE Vernova EnerVista UR Setup 8.42 allows local users to disable startup authentication through the Windows registry. The startup-authentication control trusts a registry value whose permissions allow any local user to alter it. No application credentials are required; changing the value removes the login gate and exposes protected software functions.
