CVE-2025-27164

Memory disclosure via mismatched font glyph counts

Published Mar 11, 2025 · Updated Feb 26, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Adobe Acrobat Reader 25.001.20428 and earlier allows attackers to disclose process memory via a malicious PDF. An embedded OpenType font can declare a maxp numGlyphs value larger than its CFF2 CharStringsCount, causing CoolType to size a glyph buffer from the smaller count and read beyond it while processing glyphs. A user must open the file; exposure is limited to sensitive memory that can assist mitigation bypass, with no reported data modification or service interruption.
