Local code execution via TCB use-after-free
Published Aug 11, 2025 · Updated Aug 11, 2025
Use-after-free in OpenHarmony 5.0.3 and earlier allows local users to execute arbitrary code in the LiteOS-A TCB component. OpenHarmony has not disclosed which TCB object is freed prematurely, which stale reference is reused, or the input sequence that triggers it. Low-privileged local access is required; successful exploitation crosses a security boundary and can disclose data or interrupt the device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
