Memory corruption via unchecked SLAC group count
Published Aug 6, 2025 · Updated Aug 6, 2025
A stack-based buffer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon Powerline Communication Firmware allows remote attackers to corrupt memory via crafted SLAC messages. The EV parser passes an unvalidated NumGroups field to memcpy, while evse_cm_mnbc_sounds copies that count into a 58-byte stack buffer. Access to the charging-link network is required; the overwrite corrupts stack-resident data on either endpoint and can interrupt processing.
