Memory corruption via uncounted DMA operations
Published Jul 8, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025
Use-after-free in Qualcomm Snapdragon DSP Service allows local users to corrupt memory during subsystem restart cleanup. The fastrpc_dev_map_dma and unmap paths fail to increment invoke_cnt, so rpmsg_remove can free pending_ctx while a concurrent DMA operation still accesses it. Exploitation requires low local privileges and no user interaction; the public record does not specify the operation available after corruption.
