CVE-2025-27025Network attack vector

Arbitrary root file access via path traversal

Published Jul 2, 2025 · Updated Jul 2, 2025

Path traversal in Infinera GX G42 6.1.3 through releases before 7.1 allows remote authenticated users to read or write OS files via HTTP requests. The Basic-authenticated endpoint accepts attacker-controlled paths in GET and PUT requests without constraining traversal, and the service performs the resulting file operations as root. Valid Basic Authentication credentials are required; GET exposes arbitrary files, while PUT can alter any writable filesystem location.
