Database disclosure via unprepared author-category query
Published Mar 15, 2025 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
SQL injection in PublishPress Authors 4.7.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to read database data. The author-category handler passes an insufficiently escaped user-supplied parameter into an existing SQL query without adequate preparation. Administrator-level access is required, and injected query fragments can extract sensitive database information.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
