Code execution via bypassed FreeMarker interpolation check
Published Mar 10, 2025 · Updated Mar 11, 2025
Server-side template injection in Apache OFBiz between 18.12.17 and 18.12.18 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. A ControlFilter regression fails to enforce the FreeMarker-interpolation check before request authorization, allowing crafted ecommerce fields to reach template evaluation. Exploitation requires a registered account or valid credentials and administrator interaction with attacker-supplied content; successful evaluation runs code in the server process.
