CVE-2025-26817Network attack vector

Code execution via unchecked shared-document path

Published Apr 3, 2025 · Updated May 29, 2025

OS command injection in Netwrix Password Secure 9.2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a shared document. The client checks the stored DocumentType against its allowlist but accepts a changed DocumentPath and unchecked DocumentParams, then OpenInDefaultProgram passes both to ProcessStartInfo. Exploitation requires product access and either a target user to open the shared link or permission to modify a document shared with the attacker, resulting in code execution as the opening user.
