Victim-browser script execution via unencoded File Browser content
Published Apr 8, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2025
Stored XSS in SAP NetWeaver Application Server ABAP allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript when a user opens crafted File Browser content. The SAP GUI for HTML WebGUI File Browser opens user-controlled HTML content without sufficient output encoding, causing embedded script to execute in the visitor's session. No privileges are required, but a user must visit the compromised content; execution is confined to the victim's browser and affects confidentiality and integrity without interrupting service.
