Cross-site scripting via function-valued scale argument

Cross-site scripting in Vega 5.30.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted visualization. The scale expression helper accepts a function-valued first argument and invokes it unconditionally, letting an event filter pass event.view.setTimeout from the browser Window object. A victim must interact with a visualization built from an untrusted Vega specification, and deployments using the CSP-safe expression interpreter are unaffected.
