SQL injection via unvalidated module table name
Published Feb 24, 2025 · Updated Feb 25, 2025
SQL injection in affected Moodle LMS 4.x releases allows remote attackers to alter database queries through unauthenticated course search. core_course_category::search_courses inserts the modulelist value into a database table identifier without confirming that it names an installed activity module. Affected ranges are 4.1.0 through 4.1.15, 4.3.0 through 4.3.9, 4.4.0 through 4.4.5, and 4.5.0 through 4.5.1; crafted requests can expose or modify Moodle data or interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
