Stored script execution via unsanitized live-log descriptions
Published Feb 24, 2025 · Updated Feb 24, 2025
Stored XSS in the site-administration live log in affected Moodle LMS releases allows attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser. The live-log renderer outputs stored event-description text without sufficient neutralization, causing HTML and script markup to be interpreted instead of displayed as text. Exploitation requires an attacker-controlled description to enter the log and an administrator to view the live log, exposing the administrator's browser session and actions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
