Remote code execution via PostScript stack overflow
Published Feb 14, 2025 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in certain HP LaserJet printers allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted PostScript print job. The PostScript job processor writes attacker-controlled data past a stack buffer, but HP has not disclosed the affected routine or field. No authentication or user interaction is required, although exploitation requires additional target conditions and can also elevate privileges on the printer.
