Local information disclosure via uninitialized CursorWindow buffer
Published Sep 4, 2025 · Updated Sep 4, 2025
Information disclosure in Android Framework 13 through 15 allows local users to read process memory through a CursorWindow parcel. CursorWindow::create allocates mData without zero-initialization, and writeToParcel can transmit unfilled buffer bytes to a remote Binder endpoint. Low-privileged local access is required, no user interaction is needed, and exposure is limited to data left in the uninitialized buffer.
