A stack-based buffer overflow in Johnson Controls iSTAR Configuration Utility before 6.9.5 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. Johnson Controls and CISA have not disclosed the affected function, input field, protocol message, or unsafe copy operation that overruns the stack buffer. The utility listens on a Windows host for iSTAR discovery and configuration traffic, and exploitation requires no authentication or user interaction.
