Article popularity manipulation via unchecked ishot field
Published Mar 23, 2025 · Updated Mar 24, 2025
Improper authorization in JiZhiCMS 1.0 through 1.7 allows remote authenticated users to mark published articles as popular. The article-publishing handler accepts the client-supplied ishot field and persists the privileged popularity flag without authorization. A valid front-end user session and permission to publish an article are required; exploitation changes article metadata but grants no broader administrative access.
