Sensitive file overwrite via copy-path traversal
Published Feb 12, 2025 · Updated Feb 17, 2025
Path traversal in Q-Free MAXTIME Suite 2.11.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to overwrite sensitive files via HTTP requests. The copy endpoint in maxtime/api/database/database.lua accepts a crafted path and writes outside its intended directory without properly neutralizing traversal sequences. Administrative privileges are required; overwriting controller files can corrupt data or enable privilege escalation, and a separate authentication-bypass flaw can remove the login gate.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
