Code execution via malformed cached CPU data
Published Apr 9, 2025 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
Out-of-bounds writing in LabVIEW 2025 Q1 and earlier allows context-dependent attackers to execute code through a crafted VI. While reading cached CPU information from the VI, the parser fails to enforce bounds before writing attacker-controlled data; NI has not disclosed the responsible file or function. Exploitation requires a user to open the file locally, after which memory corruption permits information disclosure or arbitrary code execution in that user's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=0 <22.3.4
- Affected versionversion=23.1.0 <23.3.5
- Affected versionversion=24.1.0 <24.3.2
- Affected versionversion=25.1.0 <25.1.1
