Denial of service via unreleased ABC parser allocations
Published Feb 20, 2025 · Updated Feb 21, 2025
Memory leaks in libming 0.4.8 ABC parsing allow context-dependent attackers to interrupt service via a crafted ABC file. The parseABC_CONSTANT_POOL and parseABC_FILE functions allocate arrays for ABC structures but provide no cleanup for those allocations. Exploitation requires an application using libming to parse attacker-supplied ABC content, and resource exhaustion affects availability only.
