Denial of service via unreleased import assets
Published Feb 20, 2025 · Updated Feb 21, 2025
Memory leak in libming 0.4.8 allows context-dependent attackers to exhaust process memory via a crafted SWF file. parseSWF_IMPORTASSETS2 in util/parser.c allocates the URL string, Tags and Names arrays, and individual name strings without a corresponding deallocation path. A victim application must parse the malicious file, and repeated parsing leaks 258 bytes per call until resource exhaustion interrupts the hosting process.
