CVE-2025-26305Public exploit

Denial of service via unreleased envelope records

Published Feb 20, 2025 · Updated Feb 21, 2025

Memory leak in libming 0.4.8 allows attackers to cause denial of service by parsing a crafted SWF file containing sound envelope data. The parseSWF_SOUNDINFO function allocates EnvelopeRecords with calloc when HasEnvelope is set but never releases that allocation after use. Triggering requires an affected application to parse attacker-supplied SWF sound information with envelope data, allowing repeated allocations to exhaust process memory and interrupt service.
