Improper authorization in Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager for Windows allows local users to use the restricted ELEVATED_PASSWORD variable. The variable component expands ELEVATED_PASSWORD without enforcing the “Allow password in variable policy” restriction. Exploitation requires authenticated local access and additional conditions not disclosed by Devolutions, and exposes a credential that policy intended to withhold.
