Privilege escalation via stored SVG script injection
Published Feb 20, 2025 · Updated Feb 21, 2025
Stored XSS in XunRuiCMS 4.6.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to run script in another user's browser via an uploaded SVG file. The upload allowlist accepts SVG files without neutralizing embedded script, causing attacker-controlled active content to be stored and served. Exploitation requires a user to view the uploaded SVG; execution remains confined to that user's browser security context.
