Unauthenticated account takeover via caller-supplied member ID
Published Apr 22, 2025 · Updated Aug 27, 2025
Authentication bypass in WPEverest User Registration & Membership before 4.1.3 allows remote attackers to assume any user account. The confirm_payment() AJAX handler accepts a caller-controlled member_id and invokes automatic login without verifying that the payment belongs to that user. The Membership Addon must be enabled and its public confirmation nonce obtained; successful exploitation creates a session for the chosen account, including an administrator.
