Stored XSS via unescaped cover image URL
Published Mar 10, 2025 · Updated Mar 11, 2025
Stored XSS in tianti 2.3 allows remote authenticated users to run arbitrary web scripts in visitors' browsers through a crafted cover image URL. The banner.js homepage template concatenates the stored coverImageURL value directly into HTML without encoding or other processing. Article-publishing access is required to store the payload, and execution occurs under the site's browser context when another user opens the homepage.
