Authenticated service interruption via unbounded gw parameter
Published Feb 13, 2025 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Buffer overflow in the IPv6 WAN configuration handler in TP-Link TL-WR841ND V11 allows remote authenticated users to interrupt service. The /userRpm/WanDynamicIpV6CfgRpm.htm handler accepts a gw parameter whose length exceeds the handler's buffer capacity. Exploitation requires authenticated access and crafted input reaching the IPv6 WAN handler; the documented consequence is service interruption only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
