Arbitrary command execution via Samba parameters
Published Feb 18, 2025 · Updated Feb 19, 2025
OS command injection in D-Link DSL-3782 firmware 1.01 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands via crafted packets. The Samba configuration handler fails to neutralize shell metacharacters in the samba_wg and samba_nbn values before invoking an operating system command. Exploitation requires low-privileged access from an adjacent network and grants command execution with the router process privileges.
