Sensitive-data access via unescaped deletion identifier
Published Feb 21, 2025 · Updated Feb 24, 2025
SQL injection in ITSourcecode Simple ChatBox 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read sensitive data via admin/delete.php. The script inserts the u or a GET parameter directly into a quoted DELETE statement and submits the resulting query through mysqli_query without escaping or parameterization. Administrator access is required; crafted input can alter query behavior, including a demonstrated time delay, while the published impact is limited to sensitive-data access.
